Just a little branding doodle I drafted up. Probably use it as my watermark going forward since my art has been getting jacked lately.
Originally had the whole “Strange Things Art” drawn out, but decided the stack looked awkward — Particularly the “ART” text. Looked too stretched and the kerning was abysmal.
It’s a shame because some of the letters in “THING” I really liked. Oh well. I’ll post the sketch below.
Sketched it in the ol’ lil’ sketchbook, tore that sucker out. Scanned it, blew it up, inked it with brush pens. This inking process was a lot of fun because I got to use brand new pens and I was drinking scotch.
Took it into Photoshop, colored it, added strokes on the ink, drafted up a quick background, added some bitmap textures. The rest is history.
I got the color scheme from my buddy Nasty Nanny, who was wearing the coolest shirt in the world. Through all my searching on the webs I could not find it. I may never get a chance to own it [they probably wouldn’t have it baby gap small anyway], but at least I can annex its color scheme into my arsenal.
I’m going to do a few more illustrations with the whole “Strange Things Art” text. Helps me practice my sexy inking. Peep the original sketch.
Gonna post a step by step tutorial on this one in the near future!
